"The Lake Garda trip exceeded all expectations, and I cannot thank you enough for your hard work and kindness to one and all. You opened our eyes to so many treasures and so many amazing, kind, brilliant food and wine artisans.
It was all just exquisite. I still can't say what I loved best, but I am lucky that I can close my eyes and imagine floating in the thermal waters and looking up at the trees and sky, or walking among the ruins in Sirmione.
I can still taste the earthy, nutty essence of that paper-thin porcini with olive oil and salt and pepper at Manestrini, and still laugh about what the young guy from La Torre talked about.
The mosaics and every element of the archaeological museum in Brescia were mind-blowing, and I will never forget lunch at SAVIO OSTERIA (one of my favorites... also the rosemary pasta with sausage and potatoes at La Torre, and the speidini or visiting Maria's home, complete with the turtle family.
Oh and of course, meeting the mayor! I can't wait to share the 1097 wine, and the La Torre amarone. Oh my! And tonight I'll drizzle some Manestrini olive oil on sauteed rapini and smile while I continue to talk my friend's ears off about the trip."
